BC Legion Highland Gathering

The BC Legion Highland Gathering will be held in Squamish this year on at Brennan Park (with parade and marching downtown Squamish in the morning). A typical "Gathering" day will start very early with Pipe Band and Colour Party inspection followed by a Grand Parade and Massed Band event. This is followed by individual piping and drumming events. In addition, during the day there are sporting competitions such as the Caber Toss and Tug-o-War. The day closes off with the Pipe Bands competing against each other for the best Pipe Band award.

There is a very keen interest from many Legion Pipe Bands around the Province which will ensure the LHG will go on for many years and taking its place in the rich history of BC.

Highland Vendors @ Brennan Park

There will be 2 or 3 vendors present selling everything from scottish fridge magnets to bagpipes and a Beer Garden in the afternoon

Parade

Inspection is at 8:00am at the Squamish Chieftain Centre parking lot on Pemberton Ave. and the route runs east on Pemberton to Cleveland Ave. and then South on Cleveland past Victoria St. Form up to massed band there on the field, and then march back as a massed band, re-tracing the route.
