Squamish Kayak Club

A Squamish-based paddling club is being resurrected for all those interested in whitewater paddling. A group of local paddlers plan on developing a not-for-profit club that will become a resource for education & recreation. The Squamish/Howe Sound area is home to some of the best whitewater kayaking known.
To start off, those seeking to either get introduced to the exciting sport of whitewater paddling or tune-up some of their skills; A series of 4 Saturday evening "pool sessions" are scheduled, starting this Saturday, November 21st 8:00PM to 9:00PM until December 12th, 2009 at the Brennan Park Rec Centre Pool. With the intent of extending the sessions into 2010 depending on interest. The sessions will be informal and supervised by a CKBC Instructor.
Participants will need to arrange their own equipment (boat/paddle/PFD etc), as a limited amount of equipment is available at this time. Boats must be clean before using in the pool (A hose will be available). Meet at the west side entrance to the pool in time to set-up and start at 8:00PM.
A Session will cost an adult $7.00, for Child under 16 years old (Child must be accompanied by a paddling parent) $2.00 plus a $5.00 CKBC membership-fee for insurance (valid of 1 year).
