In August 2009, Patricia Heintzman visited her university roommate in the Sacred Valley of Peru. Living in a small town near the historic Incan city of Pisaq, Sandra McGirr, her husband Sandy Hart and their 2 children have immersed themselves in the Peruvian culture and into the day to day lives of the people in high Andean communities. They have developed a unique humanitarian project, DESEA, that supports water treatment, healthcare and economic development in these remote areas. As well, recent flooding in Peru has devastated many Sacred Valley towns with significant loss of life and property.
Please join Patricia at the BAG in an effort to raise funds and awareness of the struggles in the Sacred Valley, the good works of DESEA and to help bring much needed relief to victims of the latest flood. And in so doing, get a glimpse into fantastic fascinating Peru.
Dinner reservations available at the Brackendale Art Gallery or email pheintzman@squamish.ca
All proceeds will go directly to needy people and projects in the Sacred Valley Area.
