Mental Illness Awareness Week (MIAW) Events & Activities

Interactive Display at Don Ross Secondary School-Monday, November 08 from 9:00 to 11:30. Students will be participating in school programming following mental illness awareness week. On November 08th, students and their families will have an opportunity to meet staff from a range of community organizations (see list below). Students are being provided with an opportunity to take a leadership role in organizing the event.

The event will provide opportunities to learn more about: mental illness; how to recognize it; and how you can help. Activity station themes will include: information about major mental illnesses (depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia) suicide prevention/self harm, eating disorders, high risk drinking, healthy relationships, staying mentally healthy and the services available.
