Marcia's Bird Walks with SECS

Saturday, Nov 29, 2008 - 9:30 am
12:00 pm
Etc/GMT-7

Learn to identify birds, brush up on your birding skills, or just enjoy wildlife viewing in our spectacular natural setting. Marcia Danielson shares her knowledge about birds and their habits through the seasons. This month we'll look for eagles, hawks and other raptors.

Please note that the bird walks go ahead in good weather or light showers, but will be cancelled if solid rain. Birds hide when it is raining heavily and there isn't much to see.

    * Easy walking but wear good shoes or boots. Binoculars are useful. Marcia has a spotting scope for close viewing.
    * Children are welcome when accompanied by a parent.
    * Please, no dogs.

To get to the meeting place, travel south along Government Road past the West Coast Railway Heritage Park. Turn right at the estuary access/"Spit" sign. Drive up onto the dyke and turn left. Drive about 3km down the dyke to the yellow gate near the end of the spit.
