Thrive 2008 “Community Empowerment Through Knowledge”

Three day conference hosted by Squamish Communities That Care, marking its 10th Anniversary.

A unique organization in Squamish, Communities That Care, is marking its 10th year in service to child and family health. “Prevention”-a core premise in their work, views individual and social empowerment as attained through knowledge.  Hence this is an opportunity for all organizations and individuals involved in preventing long term community concerns to come together in the spirit of learning, connecting and sharing.

Who Should Attend:

Community members, funders and government representatives who want to learn about the strategies in use and the successes being achieved to improve health and safety of their communities.  The conference will also be valuable to prevention practitioners, social planning committee members, safe communities projects and other mobilization initiatives, who want to strengthen their network, build capacity, relationships and skills.
