Stolen Lives: Remembering the Japanese Canadian Internment

Britannia Mine Museum. 9:00 am - 4:30 pm Temporary Exhibit now open Through striking photos and subtle artefacts this exhibit looks at the internment of Japanese Canadians after 1942. This month is the 70th anniversary of this horrible time. We remember it here in the hopes that nothing like it will ever happen again. We have partnered up with the Japanese Canadian National Museum on this exhibit. They have allowed us to select photos and artefacts from their collections for the display. There are also two original art pieces created especially fo rthis exhibit by Arleigh Wood. Arleigh's grandmother lived in Britannia before she was interned at Greenwood - where Arleigh's mother was born.
Open until the end of March
